Silverskin onions
Cultivation
The cultivation of silverskin onions (much-used in pickled onions) requires quite a lot of expertise. It is a fragile and vulnerable natural product. In order to minimise the risks involved in the cultivation of this particular type of onion T.O.P. cultivates these onions in areas dispersed throughout The Netherlands (Flevoland) and Northern France. T.O.P. closely monitors the entire cultivation process. This supervision starts even before the seedlings are planted and runs right through to delivery to the final customer. All the various stages of the cultivation process are registered and each individual batch supplied can be 100% traced from source. The cultivation is EUREPGAP certified. This stringent quality control of T.O.P. is not only a reassurance to customers but it also guarantees that the silver or silver-skin onions are of the most consistent level of quality possible. The most important harvest months are July and August.
