Cultivation
T.O.P. cultivates its sets of onions in Northern France, the Southwest of The Netherlands and in the Flevopolder areas of Holland. In these areas the best plots of land are selected by professional growers. T.O.P. works together with these growers to produce a high-quality product. A programme specially developed for T.O.P. follows the growth of the onions and offers advice on how to further optimise cultivation. Processing
In modern storage facilities in ‘s-Gravenpolder and Emmeloord in the Netherlands and Bihucourt (France) onions are held in conditioned storage until they are processed. Prior to being packed the onions are sorted and meticulously inspected. In order to guarantee a rapid and correct processing procedure T.O.P. employs highly trained staff to handle a large processing capacity. Samples of every batch are systematically taken to record details of every individual consignment and these details are available to customers on request.
Packaging
T.O.P. onion set bulbs are available in all types of packaging from 250-gram packs to bulk packaging. The smaller packs of onions are also available in composite air-permeable film packaging.
Customers
The first consignments of onion set bulbs are delivered to customers in September and high season for onion bulbs runs from about mid-January to the end of May. T.O.P. produces all the commonest varieties of onion for both professional growers and the DIY hobby gardener. Onion set bulbs are delivered to customers throughout Europe, Russia, USA and Canada.
